I've been having anxiety for the past two weeks to the point of where it's affecting my every day life. First off, 5 or 6 years ago I was told I had stage 0 cervical cancer because of Hpv. Everything turned out fine after my surgery and I've been clear ever since, but now I get into the debilitating anxiety attacks convinced I have some other hpv related cancer. For example, I found a red spot on the roof of my mouth. Convinced it was something serious, I make an appointment with my dentist. He does xrays and a panoramic xray, looks at the spot and tells me it's nothing to worry about. A week later, after still worrying, I go to my regular doctor who also tells me it's nothing, but I can't stop freaking out and being convinced I have oral cancer. Does anyone else suffer from illness anxiety? If so, how do you cope?
Doctors and dentists see various oral lesions everyday and know what serious and non serious ones look like.
Relax. Don’t waste your life with worrying. You are Clear!
Negative thoughts are not based on fact. They will exhaust you and make you feel miserable for nothing. What if thinking is useless.

Thank you, Jan!! I am trying to find ways to cope with this. It's so hard to know how, though. I really appreciate your response!!!
