It's what's your normal that counts MrsMerm. The dr just reads from a scale and if your blood results are somewhere in that scale they'll just read as normal
Every ones different, I have two sisters, one sister who 1 year younger than me (I'm 52) and the other who's 6 years older all have different symptoms. My younger sister has hot flushes and neck pain, she takes her HRT and fine. Older sister on tibolone and getting on with life
I'm having a terrible time, dreadful symptoms and HRT dosent seem to agree with me
Maybe you should ask to be referred on to a specialist or if you can afford go private and pay for a one off consultation, ask your dr to print your blood results off and take them with you
I feel for you and hope you get the help you need soon
I know just what you mean. I requested a 'full bloods' and got the results back last week - everything tickerty-boo except raised cholesterol and slightly high potassium. Doc asked me if I ate a lot of bananas, I don't. But I did read the blurb on the Ramapril I take and it says it can raise potassium levels. I now know more than my GP!
Don't be passive MrsMerm, I know it's hard when your dr is being dismissive but they can't block it if you insist on being referred
You'll need to push for it to get the help you need. I never thought declining hormones could cause so many problems.....it's horrendous
Hopefully you'll be able to give us some positive news soon, keep your chin up and know that your not alone there's lots of ladies on here going through the same
Aww don't be discouraged. Those tests are not always accurate but the good thing is you don't have some dreadful disease. So know that it's hormones. You can insist on seeing a specialist so you can get help in that way and you can help yourself as well. Trying vits or supplements that may ease the symtpoms for you. Make some lifestyle changes or whatever you need to do to feel better. But just know that peri/meno is temporary. Things will get better. It just takes time. Take care. ~Jamie~
The only reason we Peri gals question our sanity and feel like hypochondriacs at times is because the medical professionals simply don't understand how hormones (or the lack of) control our minds and bodies. Consider how every system is affected during Peri and menopause- skin, hair, libido, digestive, neurological, memory, thought clarity, etc. etc. etc. We are run from one specialist to another for all of these individual symptoms when the majority of our issues are caused by hormone imbalance. Then, to add insult to injury, we aren't taken seriously!
Why have no trials been completed to establish the reality of this syndrome
We might be taken more seriously if a TV documentary was made
I honestly think the public are more interested in watching bariatric people and cosmetic programmes, or rather the TV producers don't realise how many females worked appreciate help and information
Yes, you are so right! I would love to see a reality show about Peri and menopause. Just think, it would be a drama, trauma, comedy, and at times a forensic/homicide show! 😂
Dont worry thats all normal............... blood tests can be very unreliable during peri because too many fluctuations are going on, so blood tests can be very unreliable during this time, take it your on the menopause, thats what we have all had to do, most of us on here have come across ignorant drs over peri, you could try a well woman clinic, might get a better understanding then fingers crossed.
