Why does my husband have to have surgery

To cut it down. End of February he had pain in upper belly and wee was dark chocolate brown colour. Soon after jaundice. Sent immediatley to hospital, had blood tests and ultrasound scan.  Couldn't see what was wrong so had CT scan shortly after. Given antibiotics and within days wee back to normal and pain gone. 2 weeks later had more blood tests and these were clear.

Then gets a letter to see surgery dept. which he went to today. He was shocked to be told he needs his gallbladder removed. Why is this if all the test are clear and he feels well? He said he didn't want it and they will see him in a couple of months.

Any ideas anyone?

He might have gallstones found by CT scan.

Thank you for this.  She never mentioned that, unfortunately I couldn't attend with my husband and he's not good about asking questions.

Do they maybe offer an online login where you can review the result? I also have a doc where if I call and leave voicemail saying they can feel free to leave results on my mobile, they’ll return call and leave message answering my specific questions.
