Why? Why there are no custom IOLs?
I know each model requires approval, but there should be at least some variations available. It’s ridiculus that one can order a customized contact lens, but we all receive the very same IOLs, even though each eye is different.
Not sure what you mean… customized how?
Individual spherical abberation correction, optic size, etc.
Light adjustable lenses or adjustable intraocular lenses are about as custom as you can currently get for precise vision adjustments for cataract patients using a UV laser to change the shape of IOLs post implantation.
