I am truly angered by the number of hip replacements and told to get lifts. I have an inch off from one leg to the next. I suffer from back problems, walking problems, and all around comfort due to have my hip done. Not my choice… I had an left ankle replacement a year before that and lost a suit against the folks who put the water on the floor in which I slipped on .
How do we hold the manufacturer or the surgeon accountable? Pain is what we were looking to get rid of, only to find out there is more to come. I want to end this madness. I am too young to feel like I am 80 ( sorry 80 year olds), but I am a young soon to be 55 with a great life ahead of me and this is just annoying.
I went to therapy and they tell me they can get me straight. However, that is only for a couple of hours and then I shrink right back. I have tried everything from stretching, to turmeric, to glucosamine, and IBU.Nothing is working.
I am almost two years post op and would like to be whole again. Who is with me???
i am in the same vote . had my hip replacement a year next month and nothing will probably ever be the same . my leg is now longer , spent a ■■■■ load of money with a shoe lift built in to end up not being able to wear it because it is screwing me so badly because when i am at home i have nothing on my feet and then when i go out and have to put my shoes on i hurt so bad . Have been going to chiropractor it seems to help for awhile and i live on Advil and sleep like ■■■■ cause it hurts to even turn over . always have a pillow between my knees . will it ever be the same ?
Following. 52 here, told I am 6mm-1cm out, but functionally, seriously, it’s much more. Have had to level myself up from day 1. I am 1 year and 3 months post THR R, and am on the waitlist for a revision consult. I have put myself back in physio, thinking I have to do something, anything, but still cannot walk very far or fast without pain.
I too am in therapy again. This is my business as a risk manager and i am truly beyond words on how this can be happening to everyone. It is not acceptable. WE need the help, then you spend years struggling to get the other conditions under control to do it again in 10 years?
I can’t take that I am soon to be 55 and want to literally give up on my life!

I hate my new hip. it hurts when I walk any distance and it gets super tight. I have to lift my leg with my hands to get into my vehicle. I have been seeing the doctor for 2 years trying to get them to understand that something isnt right.
I too am cm out. Was ok initially but as I walk further pain in my back and legs which affects sleep. I use half cm heel lift but makes shoe choice difficult and they wear out.
Thought having hip done would give my back a stable base but not so.
I understand your frustration Cho but a lot of people are pain free and better off. My legs were un level by over an inch prior to the op and thankfully they are now level without pain since the op. Yes, I know it is artificial, it is not perfect and will never feel like my own but life is easier now.
Do you stretch every day? I would recommend pilates classes or buying a pilates dvd as stretching does help the body.
When you sign the consent form, it might say the surgeon is not liable, I know they try their best to level the legs, it probably depends on your bones as to the outcome.
so sorry abour your pain. im only 60 myself and i had a hip replacement a year ago dur to a trip up in my garden. i want to blame somebody but there is no one to blame. i still have pain constantly. ive tried all sorts of exercise and rest but nothing serms to work so i can empathise with you
good luck xx
