I am to come off Fluoxatine because I shake so much it is hard to eat and drink. I have been told to stop taking it for one week, then start on Duloxetine. Will I shake ? Also,I do not want to feel sick which I did on Escitalopram,I had to stop.

Hi Jayne I am on my 3rd day of taking duloxetine and I have had slight tremors but nothing really bad. After taking my first dose I felt very sick, tired shaky and light headed but I am now at day 3 and the side effects have eased quite a lot I have changed the time I take my dose to evening so the side effects aren't so bad through the day. Hope this helps 🙂
Thank you Becky,I will be starting in seven days time,Hope I can cope without Fluoxatine all next week !
I'm sure you will be ok it might not be the easiest week but just try and think by the end of it you should see a major improvement with the side effects if you do struggle maybe see your gp they may be able to help hope it all goes ok for you 👍🏼
Hi Jayne
I never had the shakes it was more jittery, with slight nausea. But that never really lasted long, maybe around a week or so. Nothing bad though. I also found when you take it make sure you eat something. I also found it helpful when feeling slightly nauseous was to either chew gum or suck a menthol sweet. Instead of starting on 30 mg per day my GP said it would ok to start on 20 mg per day for 4 weeks, then up-to 30 mg per day. Everyone's different all depends on your tolerance to medication. Hope that helps.
I also take mine in the morning before going to work.
Regards
Garry 😃
