Will My Sister's Medication Work for Me Too?

Had my first psychiatry appointment last week. After an hour of questions and discussion, he suggested I go on Prozac since my sister is taking it for her OCD and has made major improvements. It's not a for thing that it will work for me too, but he said that since we're we share genes, there is a possibility it might. What do you guys think?

I have Panic Disorder and she has OCD. I feel like my anxious feelings differ a lot from my sisters. For example, if I feel a slight heart thump, that's enough to send me into panic. My sister on the other hand, doesn't freak out about physical symptoms. She's more pre-occupied with her rituals and whatnot. I don't know if I can put up with the first two weeks of increased anxiety. I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE WORSE PANIC ATTACKS. I'm really scared. I know thoudands of individuals are experiencing the same thing I am, but I can't shake off the feeling of lonliness.

Needless to say, my prescription is still sitting there one week after my initial appointment. *sigh*

Medication reacts differently with everyone

Why dont you try the medication? Some doctors give you xanax or something with it for thise first few weeks of adjusting. You can ask

I guess I will, there's nothing else I can do. I wish I could predict how well I'll do on these. Thanks for your reply!
