I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has had there hip done and gone through a cold winter?
Does the cold affect the replacement hip at all ?
Where I live I tend to get colder harsher temps than most places because I live over 900 feet above sea level. It snows at least once per year here 100% guaranteed and the weather is suggesting I am in for a pretty bad one again this year. More like the winter of 2009 / 2010 when everyone got some and icicles hung off the roof 6 feet long and 6 foot snow drifts.
I have cold snowy winters here, with ice, and below zero temperatures. I ache in the winter, cold bothers me. I have not had a winter with my new hip, but I assume it will bother me.
I had my accident Dec'14, (OP Feb'15) and never felt warm so persume it will affect me if we have a bad winter (I hate being cold) so very interested to read what others experience has been. I invested in a Dreamland elec overblanket that is safe to leave on overnight and would not have survived last winter without it. I also get snow every winter............ Brrrr
I'm also having an op in the winter and there won't be any problems so far as your home is warm. Imagine this. Having it fine now by Spring you b raring to go. God willing. Good luck.
