Withdrawal - Confusion?

Hi,

I started Effexor XR a year ago. I started on 37.5 mg a day. I now am on a 187.5 mg a day regimen.

I take my dose in the morning.

I did experience the severe withdrawal symptoms when I was still on 150 mg a day and would forget to take it for a couple of days. Mainly severe dizziness.

They went away when I was increased to 187.5 even if I would forget to take it for a couple of days.

This morning, however, not only the severe dizziness hit me, but confusion as well (i.e. where am I, what am I doing here, where am I going...) which freaked me the hell out.

Has anyone ever experienced this? What made it go away?

Hi ,I've been on this medication for a few years now , important thing to do is take it at the same time each day , I take mine in the morning that seems to work best. If I miss a dose within about 5/6 hours I start getting horrible brain zaps .I would stick with it as I believe it is a good medication but just stick to a routine with it and skip any days.

Hi Fistambulus, Sorry you are having trouble! I used Venlafaxine for two and a half years on 75mg which I took in the eve If ever I missed out a dose I did get horrible wavery feeling which went away if I took it properly every day The only difference was when I was weaned off on to 37.5mg for the last month when I got some "brain zaps"( like short booms in the head ) which went away as I finished about three weeks afterwards Wish you well
