Withdrawal symptoms

Hi, could someone tell me what withdrawl symptoms you had please and how long they lasted? thanks

Hi,
When I tried to stop a few years ago the withdrawl was horrific. Brain zaps, dizziness, nausea, blurry vision. I decided to stay on that poison just because I couldn’t handle the effects of coming off it.

I tried again last month. But this time, I started by removing a few “beads” from the capsule each night. I slowly increased the number I was removing, until I was down to 5 beads.

Monday will be 2 weeks since I stopped taking Effexor. The first few days were rough, having dizziness and headaches, and I’ve had daily headaches with the worst right behind my eyes. But every day got a little better and I don’t regret a thing!

Hang in there. You CAN do it. But baby steps. Don’t rush it.

I was taking 187 mg of extended release venlafaxine and decided to drop one tablet of 37 mg. I felt yuk for two months before it started to settle. By yuk I mean nauseous though never actually sick and generally out of sorts. This feeling would wear off as the day went on.

I had a review with the Pharmacy the other day and I happen to mention what I had done. He asked if I had done this with the doctors supervision. I said no. Anyway he then went on to say that should I wish to reduce anymore, then to let him know. He explained that the medication comes in different forms which can be used to aid withdrawal. I mentioned about removing beads from capsule and was advised not to do this. I had not realised that the medication comes in different forms including liquid.

So I suppose what I am saying is that with medical supervision the withdrawal process could be easier than what I experienced.
