withdrawl symptoms

Hi Everybody, Last year I came off my citalopram after being on it for a number of years and although I did it reasonably slowly I don't think that it was slow enough as I suffered quite bad withdrawal symptoms for around three months. early on this year I had to go back on them again, but I started developing a rash all over my body now the fact that I am a number of different tablets I was not quite sure which one might be causing this reaction. So I gradually came off the others and there was no difference the rash was still there. So finally I came off my citalopram and that seemed to do the trick but I did not have this reaction when I was on these last time. The problem now is that I think that I am

experiencing bad withdrawal  symptoms once again. Since I am feeling really unwell. But I need to know if it is withdrawal symptoms since I also suffer from crohns and the symptoms are similar to that of a flare up.  Can you please describe the symptoms experienced during withdrawal and possibly how long it lasts. I was 0nly on the medication this time for around four months this time

Hi decndor,  Sorry you are having trouble.I have been off Cit. for a bit over a year now after taking it for 16 yrs.I tapered down over 2 mths.I then decided to re-instate after about 3 mos.at 10 mgs.Didn't seem to do much.So I stopped over a week. Some symptoms have stopped and some have stayed. Some days are better than others. They even change hour to hour. This is called windows and waves.I have frequent anxiety, tinnitus and derealization at varying levels but I actually feel good in general and I have no trouble sleeping. It feels like the brain has been re-wired and is trying to get back to normal. As far as Chron's, it makes sense that serotonin is made and or stored in the gut.The gut and brain are as one so if the gut is not recieving the med.I would think there would be a change.
