Hi Angie
Who has advised you to reduce them? and why?
How are you feeling on 40mg?
Just do it very slow and steady. I did it 5mg at a time and took between 3-4 weeks between decreases. I was at 30mg and now I'm off completely. It took a few months so don't worry how long it takes. I did have something like Xanax to help with any anxiety. You can do it!
With a benzo it surely is kind of easy to withdrawal..
Hi Paula
I'm feeling ok but have been diagnosed with dystonia.
My neurologist advised me to get off them.
Angie, I am so sorry to hear that, reducing slowly is easier. I dropped 10mg in one go last December and the withdrawals were so hard, I would never do that again or advise anyone to do that. Even so, if you have to reduce for health reasons, then I would take your neurologists advice on how quickly you do this. All the best with this.
The number one Medication for dystonia is diazapam..so with the diazapam you will manage much better coming off celexa
.just do it slowwwww
It wasn't because I used it sparingly. It was only there is I needed it. None of this is easy. I would have an anxiety attack an hour after taking xanax. It didn't really work too well for me.
Well I just read diazapam is good for dystonia ..just saying
And perhaps you made need xanex xr..long lasting ...check with your doctor .
I don't know what type of tapering your doing with the celexa..but you gotta do it really slow..it could take months to withdrawa ..
Lois, diazepam is not a dystonia drug. It’s a quick fix for things like when you go to the dentist and can’t keep still. It also can’t be taken with a lot of dystonia drugs. Diazepam is not a good drug!
That's what I read ..so diazapam is not a good drug for your condition?so now your concern is coming off celexa without too much drama?
