Hi I'm a 20 yr old female. I noticed this morning particularly when I went to the post office that when I move my right leg ( like walking, bending over, sitting down) there's a huge pain in my right lower back and buttock. I can walk but the sharp pain is awful. I've never had anything like this. I don't think it's injury or back strain related - I've been pretty lax because I recently cut off the pad of my middle finger on my dominant hand and so I can't really use the hand or do much til it gets a bit better. I do work at a restaurant and I've been using my left hand for everything. Will this back pain go away on it's own eventually? I need to go Xmas shopping for my family on Wednesday and I'm worried it's going to be unbearable. Please help, thank you! Idk what could have caused this.
Hi Celestial, I feel for you. I would go to your GP, you may have a tweaked nerve, especially if you are on your feet etc all the time. You may need some Meds and some physio, and all may be ok. I hope your OK but you always know where to come, take care hun, and Merry Xmas.
Sounds like you have a pinched nerve. Not sure what country you live in but you may want to call your doctor and get a. medrol dose pack to bring down inflammation. That's a steriod. You can take an anti-inflammatory such as advice or motrin till. you speak to your doctor. Good luck and happy holidays! !
If it's possible...go get an MRI ...if that isn't possible get an X ray but for sure go see your doctor.
Dear Celeste, you should research about SI Joint Disorder. The SI Joint can move microscopically and cause the kind of pain you are talking about. If you think that's what you have, try physical therapy first. There are usually some simple exercises you can do. If PT doesn't work, go see a pain management doctor, ask about an SI Joint Injection - if it helps then, it is a diagnostic tool to do a radio frequency ablation of the SI Joint. There's other things as well such as an SI Joint Brace. But I would start with a physical therapist and exercises. You might need a muscle relaxer as well to relax those muscles in your back. Good luck to you, hope this doesn't turn out to be a permanent thing.
Celeste,
Did you find out if you have a pinched nerve? That's how my pain started, and was sent to pt. Did you get xrays? Just wondering how you are feeling?
