Wonky muscles- so distressing

Hi ladies! Definitely experiencing lots of peri symptoms these days. One that keeps distressing me is this feeling that my muscles are a little delayed. Doesn't happen every day, but when it does, I feel like every muscle is impacted. Can anyone relate and reassure?? Would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Cindy
could u explain what u mean by delayed muscles?
I have unexplained muscle pain from time to time, they just come & go. In the beginning it was concerning, but now i know it is peri symptom and probably coz I was drinking enough water.
Are u drinking enough water?

hi! I drink a lot of water, so that is not likely the culprit. I cant explain the muscle thing very well. It feels like they are just slightly slower than the message my brain sends them. They feel funny- weak, I guess

I have been having this issue also. I also feel like sometimes my arms are very heavy. It’s a scary feeling.

I get the heavy arms. I notice it when I am doing something with my arms at a high level like hanging washing. My shoulders ache so bad that it almost feels like my arms are going to drop off. I find it comes on at mid cycle. I also get it in my legs and it comes on when climbing stairs which doesnt help when you up constantly up and down a two story house. Its like my thighs burn for a few seconds and then recover but I often have to collapse on the couch when I get to the top. I can walk long distances other other days with no problem. Go figure.

I can understand this one. I have days where my muscles feel like they are not coordinating with my brain. I feel like when I am texting, my hands/fingers are in slow motion (like how your hands seem slow when you have been out in the freezing cold and they don’t work like they should). I also have times when one arm/hand feels weak but thankfully it comes/goes. I also see someone below talked about have extreme fatigue when using their arms, I feel this when I am folding laundry, cleaning things and putting my makeup on. So many weird symptoms in perimenopause, it really is exhausting. Sending my best, hoping this improves for you!

I get this same feeling. Sometimes even my jaw doesn’t want to work and the side of my mouth gets numb. It is such a weird feeling!

You are describing what I’m experiencing. Everything feels a little behind, like they are when coming in from the cold. I’ve been going through crazy fatigue lately. It really gets to me.

You read my mind. I was also going to post about this exact thing. Feels like my body is lagging behind. It is a scary feeling and has been causing me a bit of anxiety. Even in my sleep I noticed limbs are falling asleep. I also have neck and shoulder pain plus lower back hip pain. My husband said I should consider seeing a chiropractor and I agree. I think its time to have blood drawn as well to check for deficiencies You are not alone. I just turned 43 and had a good cry because my body feels a hell of a lot older.

Ugh I hear you – I recently posted about this as well. On an unrelated visit to the orthopedic surgeon, he did say that cervical (neck) wear and tear can be expected around this age, especially if you do things that exacerbate it, for eg your posture. I’ve been trying to be more conscious about it, and how I sleep too, since injuring it last month doing some major photography work

I just had a cry yesterday! I’m 51 and feel like I’m 90. And I just made an appointment with my doctor to order some blood work as well. It’s worrisome. So glad for this forum! There’s not a single person in my life who can relate to what I’m going through. Thanks for your reply!!

Glad you’ll be getting some answers! It could just be fatigue from poor sleep, or that “brain fog” they say is a common symptom. Hang in there, you’re not alone!
