work

Does anyone ells find it difficult at work if you have a job that requires a lot of walking I am a stocker so I run around all night I also work nights so I'm constantly moving and it makes the itching worse

I had a bad flare-up some years back after taking long walks in tight corduroy jeans. It went right down my thighs and triggered an extensive outbreak of psoriasis. I attributed it to the friction. The distinction between LS and psoriasis was blurry, I hadn't yet been diagnosed with LS, although it's now clear I'd had it for forty years.

You want to be wearing loose cotton pants and very soft cotton undies.

Ok thank you

Hi I live in a hot country so I find walking difficult. My ideas that have helped a good barrier cream I use johnsons non scented jelly it's a bit like vasaline and spare pair of pants to change if things get a bit sweaty it can irritate the skin. If you don't have any and your undergarments are damp roll up some tissue to put down there to create a dry barrier until you can change your underwear good luck xx

I still try to walk longer distances and go cross country skiing.  I use a fatty cream for the occasion.  At the moment Calendula cream works.  It may change again, but for now it works.  I use a light cotton pad as well, to catch the spill.  Sometimes I wonder what works better:  soft tight sitting pants or loose.  When I wear tighter thermal underwear there is less rubbing.  Experimenting all the time.

Interesting. We're all so different, 'cause I find that tight underwear makes me much sorer - it squashes al the bits together and then they rub. When I'm doing a long walk I find a liberal application of zinc and castor oil cream works well as a lubriant and a sweat barrier.

As long as we can find ways to feel comfortable and keep it possible to do the activities we like to do.  I made note of zinc and castor oil cream.  What I also experienced is that LS likes variety.

Agree completely, I find it really helps to keep ringing the changes with different barrier creams.

I know some women have problems with wearing pads I actually find they stop a lot of the friction for me and as you can change them every loo visit to keep things fresh I find it helps me.  Worth a try if you can manage with them.

Also keeps the cream from your nickers.
