Working through the Anxiety with a fast heart rate.

Hi, I have severe health anxiety which I have been suffering with for a couple of months now, I read somewhere that if you push through when you feel anxious and carry on with what they are doing it helps, I have been trying this the last few days and 80% of the time it has worked for me and i am feeling stronger and more positive, my question today is the 20% of the time that i give in and retreat to my safe place to ‘let it pass’ it due to my racing heart, I just don’t know if you are to keep going and push your heart or to sit down to let it calm and then start again?

I can now cope with most of the sensations and feelings that comes with anxiety hence being able to keep going 80% of the time but when i feel my heart pounding i just do not know if i carry on or stop what i am doing and re balance myself?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated

its whatever u want to do. a pounding heart from anxiety wont hurt you, its just caused by adrenaline which wears off.
one thing that gets u in control is proper breathing for anxiety or panic. i listen to a short meditation called Dont Panic on youtube. works every time. she guides u thru it. also like Stop panic attacks now. He really relaxes u and explains it well!
Listen to your body and if the adrenaline is feeling like too much, take a break and regroup by focusing on your breathing to calm heart rate down.

Thank you Jan34534, my adrenaline seems to always be running high during the day, however like you said if i can carry on i shall keep going and if it feel its too much i will sit and re-balance, i shall take a look at your recommendations on youtube x
