I have hip arthritis on the right hip and just got x-rays and the doctor said the hip socket itself is damaged along with the cartilage, he said once I have surgery he will have to smooth out the joint bone where the ball will connect. Anyone familiar with this and had this issue? I am assuming this is fairly common with hip arthritis as it progresses. He wants to see me for another x-ray in 3 months to monitor it. Surgery is only a matter of time he said. I have only mild to moderate pain right now for past couple years but he is concern it will get worse. Any information appreciated.
