Worried about getting covid. Do I possibly have it?

Yesterday, I did decide to go out to the mall since I wanted to surprise my friend with a gift for her birthday coming up and I went to the mall for 2 hours before it closed since I was busy working. I'm honestly worried now that I'm probably exposed to the virus and I might have it now. Today I woke up, but I had a hard time keeping my eyes open and I had a runny nose for a few, but it stopped a few minutes later. I was outside a lot though yesterday too so not sure if I got myself sick from the weather. Those are the only symptoms I have right now but I'm feeling so anxious now. I'm 23, normally healthy. This has been awhile since I started to do anything for myself since the whole covid cases and I have been feeling depressed so I wanted to just go to the mall for a bit. But cases have been rising, I feel so dumb now to make a risky move.. I did have my mask on properly the entire time in public, but it has been hours since I haven't washed my hand while out, but I immediately washed my hands when I got home for the night.

I think you’re gonna be just fine. Do you have any allergies? Sometimes being outside for a long time can trigger that. But if all you have right now is or was a runny nose, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. being tired is so common with people that it’s really nothing to worry about. Sounds like you are young and very healthy. Even if you got the virus, you have a 99.9% chance of everything being OK. Just continue to take precautions if you have to go out but try to avoid crowds. As with any type of virus , To help prevent it make sure you are eating healthy food, taking your vitamins and staying hydrated. even if somebody came down with Covid, they would just stay home and take care of themselves unless they had more severe symptoms like a cough and fever. Take care

Thank you for the response Jan and helpful suggestions. It could be allergies, maybe. But just hoping it’s not something bad since now I might have to stay home and let my boss know, if I do end up getting it. But I’m going to try and stay positive as much as I can since I know stressing will make everything worst.

I just wanted to put your mind at rest i have had covid and trust me i say you would know if you have it as the symptoms are like nothing youve probably experienced before, it is not anything like a cold or flu its far worse, mine started with a high temp of 39 deg, a cough that was dry and painful, servere shortness of breath, upset tummy & total and utter exhaustion i mean being not even being able to get out of breath, i am in the UK our cases are high so look out for those symptoms you will certainly know if youve got it, it took me 3 weeks to get over it and im not fully recovered now, just listen to what they tell you, stay home & stay safe x

I’m terribly sorry you’re going through that.. I hope you get better very soon. That really sounds awful. I just got tested today just in case. My temperature is so far normal and they told me I had a mild nasal congestion. I should be getting my results in a few days. Cases are pretty bad here too. I’m from the U.S. I hope you’re staying safe as well.

Having Covid doesnt always mean severe illness. I had it (28) as well as my husband (33), our 8 year old, 4 year old, 2 year old, and 7 week old. None of us got severely ill. It started out as sore throats for us, and honestly if we hadn’t completely lost our sense of taste and smell we probably would’ve assumed it was allergies and not even been tested. None of us ran fevers, etc.
