Hi. This is my first time posting on this forum. I’ve been experiencing something that’s been concerning me for the past month or so. I started experiencing a strange, intermittent pain in different areas of my abdomen and near my belly button. The only consistent area of pain is my mid pelvis (right above crotch) and lower right pelvis (right next to it.) the pain has since begun spreading to my leg, and sometimes my foot gets numb. This only seems to happen with the right leg, which makes sense as the right side is what seems to hurt more. I’ve developed a small, soft lump sort of in between my hip and right rib cage. It doesn’t seem to really hurt that bad, and whenever I take a hot shower it seems to subside for a while. The pain has affected areas like in my Lower back right side and right hip as well. Again, this isn’t severe pain, just unfamiliar and concerning. I initially was worried about appendicitis but I went to the ER, they did a CT of my abdomen and blood work and a urine test and said they couldn’t see an appendix in me anywhere, didn’t see signs of inflammation, and my blood work was normal. They diagnosed me with anxiety disorder and as of now that’s the only diagnosis I’ve received. This may or may not be important, but I had been taking Chantix to quit smoking, and that gave me severe panic attacks which caused me to tense up and hold my mid section tightly for days when this pain was occurring. I guess I’m just wondering if anyone might be able to help me determine what’s wrong? I have an appointment to see my doc but can’t get in until January 9th. I just want to make sure there isn’t something urgent going on that I’m neglecting. Thanks in advance and sorry for the extremely long post.
Try stopping your anti smoking product to see if that is the cause. To find out quicker if you have anything worse going on, ask to have your appointment put forward. You may get a cancellation.
Hi. Thanks for the response. I did stop taking Chantix immediately when the panic attacks started and that was about a month ago and I’ve been off ever since. The panic and anxiety is still here, but it’s been getting significantly better since I’ve been off of it so it’s very possible that the drug was making me over react to pain.
Hopefully you can get an earlier appointment to investigate your pain.
