Worried about sertraline side effects

Hi all, I've been diagnosed with Depression, anxiety disorder and IBS. I've had IBS for many years now though but it slowly dwindled away throughout the years. Since having my gallbladder out a year ago my IBS flared up along with many other stomach issues which caused my mental health to spiral as well, Mostly my anxiety. After many Dr visits and different methods she thought she would try me on an antidepressant as one of my first steps is getting my anxiety and stress under control. She prescribed me sertraline 50mg and booked a telephone appointment for a weeks time to see how it's going I'm worrying though. I've read all the side effects people are having... Nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. I have the BIGGEST phobia of vomiting. I panic when I feel nauseated which makes the feeling worse. The Diarrhoea also panics me as I HATE using public bathrooms as the thought of people hearing me makes my anxiety spike and work doesn't have the most easiest access to toilets for emergencies like toilet urgencies (the nearest toilet is down multiple corridors and up some stairs). I'm taking the sertraline in the late afternoon (so I will be taking it when I get in from work) and I started yesterday (Saturday) and so far i've been feeling a little sick but not enough to panic me yet. What side effects did everyone have? How long did it take for the side effects to show up? Straight away? after a few days?, How long did they last? and lastly, if you was still going to work how did you cope with them at work? Sorry for the mess of a question, just would like to talk to people to ease my mind.

Hi I started sertraline November 2018 after refusing for weeks due to seeing some comments on the internet. The doctor said to me what have I got to loose as I felt like rubbish anyway so I took one and then instantly “thought” I feel sick it must be these but pushed through them after 6 weels of use I was still suffering light headiness and not feeling rightso was upped to 100mg this time the thoughts got worse as did some night sweats for about a month or so until the side effects calmed down, I guess my body getting used to having a bit extra serotonin? but still today I take one daily, just before bed and now is like 2nd nature. They have helped me but not fixed me if that makes sense, I am not fearless and have faced facts that actually even though I am only 30 I may be on these for years to come as I dont want to feel the way I felt before these.

i suffer IBS and have done for about 13 years just managed with loperamides as and when needed

Hi,
I have been using sertraline for about 5 months and have to say the only real side effect I notice is sweating very easily and dehydration, so make sure to drink plenty of water with this drug - a lot of anti-depressants I believe have this effect.
Mine was prescribed for anxiety, although since using I am still noticing the same problems. At work or in certain environments (especially where there are many people) I start to feel head pressure and brain fog - and if someone is talking to me giving me too much info I literally have to walk away as I start to feel very dizzy. It’s awful at the end of the working day my head feels like soup, but at the weekends - no problem.
