Have you taken any treatment for the chlamydia? And, have you taken the full course of what you were prescribed?!
Have you been tested for the other STD / STI possibilities? If you have / had chlamydia you could also have other ‘simple’ bacterial infections going on, such as a yeast infection if you had unprotected vaginal sex? The cause of the inflammation may, or may not be linked with the sex related stuff, so, put the simple guide below in place to start to look after the skin of the head of your penis - the wording is not aimed at you specifically, but it will be helpful if you can put as much of this in place as possible.

  • You need to know what is happening in terms of sexual infections so either get to your Regular Doctor, or go to a Specialist Sexual Health Service such as a GUM Clinic or City Center Walk-in Service and get the right medications in place for what you actually have …

Penile Hygiene Protocol to Combat Penile Problems

In the mean time abstain from applying anything at all to your penis - wash the head / glans with water only, dry 100% immediately afterwards, draw your foreskin as far forward as you can each time you shower to protect the head, once you have thoroughly rinsed everything off, expose the head of your penis and rub with the inside of your hand only. Don’t apply any Lubes, Baby Oil, Moisturiser or Skin Creams / Lotions to it. If you are sexually active, or Masturbate, clear away any fluids from the entire surface of the head of your penis as soon as you can. If you use condoms regularly try doing without the need to use them for a few weeks.
By doing all these things hopefully you will get a positive reaction (YOU need to have your issues diagnosed and treatment in place for this!). If you use any of the things I have listed to avoid, on a regular basis at the moment, you can reintroduce them one at a time and see if symptoms return to discover what the potential cause was … As ever, if it worsens considerably seek Professional Medical advice …

ive been tested for chlamydia, gonnorhea and syphilis etc but not herpes. only chlamydia come back positive. ive finished the full course of antibiotics (doxycline). not had any treatment for anything like thrush tho. do you reckon it looks like a yeast problem or balantatis ? (thanks for the reply)

If we use the broader meaning of Balanitis this describes the inflammation and redness of the skin - please see the NHS information page from the web link below. However, you may have an actual skin condition that needs to be treated with prescribed medicines - this is why you need to get and sexually related issues out of the way first so that anything else will become more obvious as to what it is, and, how you would go about treating it. This is why you need to have Medical Professionals involved in helping you to deal with everything you actually have, and to put the right treatment in place
