Worried I may have Temporal arteritis which can be fatal

Hi everyone. I did a post last week explaining that for the last 4 week's I keep getting a weird feeling in my head everyday that I can't explain, its not painful but basically I can't concentrate or focus on anything when it happens and everything that's not in my direct eye line I find too 'noisy', I explained this can last anywhere from an hour to a few hours each time. I saw the Dr last Friday and all my blood tests came back fine and he was confident it wasn't a tumour as no warning makers showed in my bloods. He is treating me for chronicle sinusitis which I don't believe it is as I have no sinus symptoms and I am not in pain. If he 3 weeks it's no better then he said he would refer me for a scan. However, yesterday I started with a pain in my left temple, not constant, only when I touch it, the pain spreads about an inch all around the area I touch. And today the pain is sharper but again only there when i touch it or when I bend down. I have looked at Google and I am worried it's temporal arteritis which I have read can be fatal. also I have nice my arms have been achy tonight aswell. My Drs it takes ages to get an appointment and I don't wanna go a&e just for a pain that hurts when you touch it but at same time I am really scared it's something really serious and brain related.

honestly im surprised he didn’t order one, just for peace of mind. honestly of you don’t want to wait, unfortunately ther is a&e and in my experience won’t scan you unless your having neurological symptoms or trauma to your head, so that might be a waist of time, especially when they can pull up your record and see that you’ve seen your doctor. I had the same experience and my doc wouldn’t order a scan, so I went to the er. luckily they did scan me cuz I hit my head.

hi

you say you had the same experience, do you mean symptoms? what did it turn out to be?
My dr didn’t send me for a scan because he checked everything with my bloods and he said they came back all fine and assured me even a brain tumour would show some signs in my bloods, I don’t know whether this is true or not.
This pain in my temple only started this week

Idk where you live, but in the US it’s not common for Drs to prescribe scans etc. unless they really think something may be wrong with you. From my experience, I’m not surprised at all that he isn’t sending u for one yet… He obv doesn’t think anything is wrong with you or he would send u asap.

  • I can’t say I’ve had the exact same symptoms as you, but I have had soooo many different physical symptoms from anxiety that I am betting yours are anxiety related as well.
  • For example: I’ve had chest pains so bad that it was painful to even laugh. I’ve had cluster headaches that lasted for months, felt like sharp zaps of pain on the left side of my temple, even woke me up at night. I’ve had dizziness for months, felt like I was on a boat and swaying 24-7. I had parts of my face feel like they were going numb, vision blurred, heart palpitations, tingling/arms and legs. I could go on for days listing all my symptoms haha. And they were ALL anxiety related!! It’s crazyyyy what your mind can do to your body.
  • I think you should trust the Drs opinion and just wait the few weeks to see if it gets any better. Do these feelings go away at all? I always notice a lot of my anxiety symptoms lesson/disappear when I am distracted, and they get worse when I focus on them. Not all of the symptoms were this way, but most.
