Im a 45 year old male. Been with men and women in the past though out my life. Been married for several years and have a 12 year old son.
The last four years ive been getting sick easier and resently having upper abdominal pains and now im having weakness in my arms and legs with tingling. Been to several doctors blood test , CT scans and ultrasounds done everything normal. They cant explain my symptoms.
Im scared to get tested my family doctor said your better off not to know cause its a death sentence.
Im confused and scared my anxiety is so out of control!
Any advise????
Get the test. It's not a death sentence if you get treatment. Have you had unprotected encounters? You can get rapid HIV tests if you can't wait the two weeks for the results. Also get tests for everything else just to be sure. Always best to test xxx

Yes ive had unprotected sex and she made it sound like if i get tested im just going to find out ill be dead soon. She is scaring the hell out of me
I don't follow your third sentence. Have you had a test or tests by your GP? Has he/she made this comment about better off not knowing?
I have not been tested i inquired and she said i would be better not knowing cause its a death sentence she made me feel uncomfortable and really scared.
Yeah that's well out of order and completely irresponsible. If you did have it (tbh if you've not been with anyone else for 12 years I highly doubt you have HIV it usually kicks in with more symptoms by about 10 at the latest) then it would be stupid to tell you not to test as it could risk transmission especially to your spouse. If you've not been with anyone else in 12 years I wouldn't worry too much pal but deffo get a full std panel because you could have something even if it's pretty curable. Please don't worry too much your doctor sounds crazy though haha x

Yes definitely. people with HIV can expect to live a normal life and have a normal life expectancy with prompt treatment. Just get the test I bet you're fine. How long has it been since you slept with someone new? Xx
Yes my ex wife and i spent about a year trying to spice up our sex life about 5 years ago and we did some stupid stuff that ruined our marraige
I'm sorry to hear that. Bite the bullet, go for the test. There could be plenty of reasons you're getting sick easier eg stress! And if it is what you fear worst then you can start treatment and feel better.

Go for a test to know what is wrong with you. You need know what you are treating so try and run a test.. There is solution to all illness and what so ever it is let me know and i will assist you.

Plus from what ive read the drugs if i was positive are so expensive i would never be able to afford them?
I feel like it’s a lot better to just get tested. There’s no point of living in fear and not knowing. Your doctor is very irresponsible
What is wrong with your family doctor?
The earlier you test, the earlier you could move on your life. (or the earlier you can begin treatment )
