I had my surgery 7 weeks ago. Am having my first period currently. The first couple days wasn't sure if it was a period as I only use a liner now am using pads. Its not that heavy the pain is minimal. What Worries me is the clots that am passing out looks like before the surgery n the bleeding has not stop it been like 7 days now
Hi Nicole, I will advice you ring the ward where you had your surgery done . Bleeding shouldn't be a thing to worry about after 7days but clots is something i might want to clarify and be checked . Good luck hope you get well soon .
What was the surgery?, when I had a mirena coil 2 days short of it being in a month it expelled with an enormous clot, my underwear fell to the floor with a thud it scared the life out of me. I went to A&E and they did not seem too concerned advising go back to consultant.
You must be feeling extremely tired, every time I have been examined or had exploratory prior to U&E I bled worse. What was worse I had no pain just this feeling of everything coming away and I had no control. Dont leave it you need peace of mind.
Hiyah
After I had fibroid removed I had a follow-up appt 6 weeks later with the consultant to check that the my subsequent period was ok. He advised me to keep taking the transexamic acid tablets, that I had previously been prescribed, if i got a lot of bleeding. I haven't been as period is relative normal. Had to have a follow-up blood test (low iron) 3 months later. My GP asked if I was taking the transexamic acid to stop heavy bleeding. I said I wasn't as all ok except small blood clots. She advised that I should take the tablets then. I have done although some months later, the clots are tiny/non-existent.
Hope that helps but do have a chat with your GP if you can.
take care
