So I was moving things into my storage unit tonight and when I was done I got in my car to go home and immediately felt like I was having heart palpitations, but like back to back one for a good 30 seconds. As the night went on the discomfort of the chest pain got worse on and off. So much so that of course it started to scare me and trying to tell myself something was really wrong and I needed to go to the ER. Well I haven't, but I am still up with issues. I have never felt anything like this after some physical activity, is this normal for anxiety and panic?
My experience has usually been from lack of activity that somehow triggers it. I would get checked out by doctor just to be sure. You can stress your heart in other ways besides anxiety. Seriously, let them test you. Rule out everything else first.
Yea I have had all my tests done and they are all fine. But this was a first for me to feel it right after physical activity. I didn't even feel this bad after my stress test. But I didn't know if it was something normal to expect, panic and Anxiety is new for me so I'm trying to figure all this madness out! Thanks for the reply!
What's your doctor summize it to be? Have you had any reoccurrences ? It does not go away that quickly. My experience is that it usually gets worse before it gets better. Do you have a lot of worries and stress in your life? How's your stomach, any issues there?
Well there's nothing wrong with me medically so they sent me to a therapist who says I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder with panic. And yea I have lots of stomach issues now! And only worries when I start to feel all the physical sensations which was sending me into panic attacks all the time bc I was so scared I was gunna die or have a heart attack, and no reoccurance but since the little incident today my panic and Anxiety sensations have been so bad, which sucks! But it could just be a coincidence!
Yes, that's normal. Any physical sensation can set it off. From heart burn to cramps, headaches, body aches, sinus pressure and my favorite; mucus in the throat. All of which you are very sensitive too and your brain automatically overreacts. Hopefully they gave you a beta blocker and stomach acid blocker to help control these symptoms. You literally have to tune out these sensations and it's hard and takes time. Drink lots of water and eat, even if your body says no. Getting weaker is counter productive and will only make things worse. No, you are not dying, but try telling that to your brain, because it surly isn't listening. Your brain has you thinking about caskets and cemeteries and how to write your will. Total over reaction. Hypersensitive. Only therapy and time can help. Meds work well too. But you are not alone. Important you keep writing and sharing. It helps you and the rest of us on here.
