Went to see the orthopeadic surgeon today, and said yes the the operation, told her that it was the lovley freinds on this site that made up my mind and she now recommends her patients to go to this site. So on the waiting list from October onwards, no turning back now.
Hi Sue sure that you will be fine, there are risks of complications but if you are in a good state before the operation, you have a team of surgeons doing the best that they can for you, I would not advise going onto a private room for the 3 to 4 days in hospital as it is a long time to spend alone, you need the activities of the other patients to keep your pecker up and the nurses can be fun, we had one old doll pretend to be an Air Hostess waltzing about our ward trailing a small suitcase behind booking our onward fights and acting a clown, she was great, and you all kind of pull together for each other in a ward, I felt cut off in a private room the afternoon I was given one.
Hi sue, well done! Good for you!! I was like we all are but had my op back in march! Time will fly and everyone on here are very helpful! Make sure you have a good team of helper's!! Grabbers ,raised loo seat.and easy food in freezer! Regards Amanda
thank you a1l, I spoke about this site, and how everyone here made my mind up, I told the doctor I would turn to any one on here for help and advice, and she said good, best thing I can do. so have a rest all of you, once I get the date and nearere the time the nerves will kick in and the questions will come, but in the mean time hearing about all your stages of hippie land is great,
I hope it will be done by christmas, how will I go christmas shopping on crutches........I will have to keep stopping and sit on Santa's knee.
