would you host someone with epilepsy as your au pair ?

Hello

Please excuse my bad english. I'm from Germany.

But I would like to know what people in uk think about epilepsy. I am 19 years old and have epilepsy and know about that since two month. It is hard to find a family especially because I want to go to London.

But since I have to tell that I have been diagnosed with epilepsy people don't answer when I write that I want to become an au pair for their children ( on aupair world) .

It is really sad because it was always my dream to care for children and live in London for one year. For me it is no opportunity to hide that I have epilepsy.

I always tell them that I take medications and everything is back to normal.

So I wanted to ask if it is a well known disease in England ?

And what do you think about having an au pair with epilepsy.

It would be great to know so I can see if there is any chance that my dream come true.

Best wishes smile

Why not get the advise of an actual agency based in the UK.

My agency was iSt . They work together with an agency in London

and they couldn't help me. But I will ask another agency.

But even when I have an agency I think there would be a problem with

finding a host family which is ok with my epilepsy.

Hello, we don't live in London.  We are in Florida USA.  My daughter is 17 and has intractable epilepsy.  Would you consider the US?
