At 8.5 days post op it was all going so well. Hip is fine but when I woke up this morning the wound area felt sore. I had dressing changed on Monday and the new dressing is see through and not very supportive, it seems to me.
I could feel clip coming out and my husband checked and said does look like coming apart. I have to go back into hospital this afternoon to have it checked.
Anyone else had any issues with wound?
Hi karen ... what a bummer !!! no, I had no issues with my wound - had staples/clips too - dressing was changed by home health nurse ...
good that you are going to have it looked at ....
wear loose fitting pants okay and let is know what happened ...

not nice Kare, had no problem with my wound either, didn't have my ressing changed all just my staples out after 10 days. Hope all is well when you get t checked Love Gill xxx

I had a problem with the clips at about 8 days too and the clips were irritating me and causing a bit of pain. However once I had the clips removed at 10 days this went. Recommend having the clips taken out around this time as skin can grow over and more uncomfortable to remove clips. Mine came out easy.
Also I did have a very good dressing that was waterproof and very strong.
it went through the shower no problem too. maybe look at better dressing too.

Thanks Maggie, hopefully they'll sort out in a few hours. To be honest, not sure if hubby just not overreacting. I can't see anything but can feel a clip poking out of dressing, he says looks a bit gaping though .. Eurgh
yes my husband doesnt like looking either!!! I think our body puts up with the clips for so long but moving around they do get knocked a bit and if dressing is not too strong one of the clips might be ready to come out. good luck and get them out as soon as you can you will feel so much betterx
That's too bad. I had op 29th June and not getting clips out until july13th. One of the patients who was a week further on did have oozing from the wound. Hope everything goes well for you at hospital.
Thanks all. Seems hubby was being a bit cautious. Nurses had a look and said yes a few clips looked loose but better whenever possible to leave the dressing on. Gaping bits are apparently scabs lol. They did say was best to check it out. I was a bit scared I'd overdone things as went to kids sports day yesterday as felt so good.
