so many colleagues have said this to me over the past 2 days - major surgery is so much less stressful than teaching!!!!!!!!

I quite agree with you Val but I can think of better ways to spend time off school !

I can agree with you Valerie. I had a hip replacement followed by a revision operation a few years later. I think they were both easier than teaching full time. I retired a couple of years ago so I am a lady of leisure now which is lovely. I think lots of people think that teachers have an easy life with long holidays and finishing early in the day but over the years teaching has become extremely stressful and difficult. However many hours there are in the day there will always be something else that needs to be done.

Hope that you manage OK when you return to work.
