Writing to Reach You....Day Thirteen

Morning All

So...sorry to be all doom and gloom...I have to be honest though. I am not feeling any better yet at all....not one jot. I keep waiting for the epiphany moment...maybe I'm making it worse by waiting? Anyway...it's not happening. The side effects have calmed down a bit, sweating a lot (yum) and had a proper headache yesterday, all day starting at the point of taking the tablet and ending when I finally gave up and went to bed!

I have my drs appointment next week...I suspect that she'll up the dose so I'll have to start again with the side effects.  Hope you're all doing ok...

As I said already I'm feeling pretty much the same as you today (and yesterday).  Getting really fed up of feeling rubbish and just want things to get better.  Was nice to feel a bit more like myself for a few days last week but not great to be feeling this way now.  Chin up Nat, I'm sure we'll get there but it it tough at the moment...

Hiya hun can you tell me what side effect you get iv just started these tablets myself and i get more indegestion and sweating headaches ect but got to give them a chance to kick in liz

Hi ya Amazonian

Sorry you still feel rubbish, i know what you are going through, its my 4 th week and just starting to feel better, Personally i wouldnt go on a higher dose yet, like you i did 7days on 50mg and wasnt improving, so doc put me up to 100mg and i was suicidal,in bed for 2 wks like a zombie,

I then found this site and really my doc should have kept me on lower dose for at least 3 wks till its in my system instead of increasing it,

Everybody is different but its my 2nd day of feeling better in 4 weeks which reading everyones posts 4-6 weeks there should be sime improvement, my headache like yours  i still have but its not as severe

Wish you all the luck & hope you feel better

Flowerhouse xx

Thanks for your support, it's lovely.

Hey Liz

Hope you're ok. I've been on them 13 days so far and experienced a bit of a fluttery heart (nothing I've been worried about), a strange feeling of being "warp speed"....vibrating in my toes which seems to have stopped, dry mouth, immense amounts of yawning, headaches, slight shakes. Sounds awful and I'm not "enjoying it" but they are not too bad and are getting better each day. Stick with it, they seem to help a lot of people and I'm hopeful that they will help me too.

Hiya AmazonianNat iv been took of mitazipine after ten years on them they did help at first but started to make me ill i took one ov the citalopram on friday last week and on sat i had a realy bad panick attack while i was out and also like a wet feeling inside that put me of and for two days never had anything and started to get irratated so i started them again give them a chance i got the same wet feeling again today hope they do get better takd care hun and hope they work for you realy soon liz

Hi Flowerhouse,

Thanks for the message. I am on 10mg at the moment, the Dr wanted to start me on a higher dose but I was dead set against going on tablets so she agreed I could go on 10mg. I think now that I've seen that the side effects are not going to kill me I am more open to going up to 20mg. I will have done 3 full weeks by the time the appointment comes around so I'll see what she says. Sorry to hear about how they affected you. So glad to hear you are seeing some improvements!! That's really great news. I am hopeful that I too will see something, soon.

Take care, and the best of luck to you too

xx

Omg are you serious? ! 50mg and 100mg!! I've never heard of anyone taking that much, 40mg is the highest does, that really doesn't sound right at all.

Hi im ever so sorry i thought i was on sertraline discussion, although i was on citalopram it helped a great deal, in 3 wks i was a different person, i only came off it because i felt better, huge mistake as i hit rock bottom when i came of them.

Good luck

Flowerhouse xx

Ah yes...I was on Sertraline but ended up with Serotinin Syndrome on it...hence the Citalopram! Good luck! xx

Hi sarah

Just realised i replied to the wrong discussion lol i think id be in a coma taking that much citalopram lol

It was sertraline discussion group i was meant to reply, citalopram was great , they kicked in by 3rd week on 10mg then went up to 20mg with no side effects, the only issue i was size 8-10 went up to 12 had bizarre sugar, carb cravings , i cane of it be ause i felt better and was a huge mistake so when i hit rock bottom doc put me on sertraline where side effects are quite bad,

Everybody is different but citalopram besides the weight gain got rid of my anxiety, depression and gave me energy on 20mg,

Hope this helps and good luck

Will do.  I'd happily crawl under a duvet for a few weeks with the way I feel at the moment but unfortunately can't do that.  I keep telling myself it'll be ok but it's hard to believe that sometimes.

I know,:-( thats where i am now, feel awful this afternoon, trying to get in to doctors with no luck to come off sertraline, my sister is on escitalopram which is similar to citalopram and have read mostly good reports, shes great on that,

I cant motivate myself out of bed feel to nauseous & migraine :-(( and i did well yesterday,

Try & stay strong, we have to hit rick bottom before we get better,

Hugs
