Looks like if it was me, I'd get second opinion. Take copy, available if you ask, and go see someone else.
Unfortunately, I end up having surgery to repair 5th metatarsal break six months after the break due to it not healing right. My first doctor thought it looked good even when I told her I was still having discomfort. Never hurts to have someone else check.
Also, I've since heard that orthopedic surgeons don't like to ever do surgery on feet unless they absolutely have to. See foot and ankle specialist.
Get a second opiniom and ask for an oblique view to confirm fx.
