xanthelasma

ive had xanthelasma ocour begining of january 2010. really strange how they just became visable. i was hoping to have them removed on the nhs but was told they no longer do this. so in the meantime im having to use dermacolor makeup to cover them. its not bad stuff as long if you can get the right colour mix to match your skin tone.

Hi, I have it as well. I have just found a patient information factsheet on it published by University Hospital Southampton regarding removal issued January 2011, it would seem they still do it.

Janeta

is its appearance hurting u?? i mean if it is quite visible u can remove it,but if it is hard to notice leave it .it is quite common especially with advancement of age

its not at all painful, I cant even feel it but it is very visable and makes me feel rather embaressed, you say I can remove it, how can I do that ?

u should first check your fasting lipid profile and be sure that if you have elevated cholesterol u take anti cholesterol drugs as statins .As for the surgery u can do it privately since t is not provided by NHS, and there is a probability of recurrence after the surgery either.
