YAG and Strenuous Activities

I am 25 years old and 3 months ago I had my bilateral cataract surgery. I can already tell my eyes are starting to get PCO. Probably sooner than later, I will need the YAG treatment. I have asked all the below questions to doctors butI would like to know from the patient's experience too. 1) I would like to know if anyone has done their research before getting the YAG and had selected for the cruciate or the circular method. How did it turn out for you? 2) Also, I would like to know if you are still able to safely exercise and what kind of exercise do you do? Can you lift weights? Run a mile? I don't understand how, with an open posterior capsule, the vitreous wouldn't prolapse forward. 3) What was your recovery like? Did you have swelling/IOP rise ?

the pco curse for the young. good questions. cruciate method reduces floaters in the field of vision but can cause iol pitting in the visual axis causing glare or other phenonenon. i am leaning towards circular method as the pitting will be peripheral but it can lead to large floaters. 2nd question is very good. i read that it is possible but very rare.

i have not had the YAG yet but need it. good luck.

interesting, I did not know there was 2 different methods for YAG. I have the circular method and my floaters are really bad. considering getting a vitrectomy to get rid of them. if I could go back in time I probably wouldn’t have gotten the YAG as my pco wasnt that bad.
