Yea New hip replacement

Hi everyone, I had my thr 2 days ago.

Feel better today and glad I had it. There's big pain but it's different than the pain prior. Came home today but need to get a smaller walker so I don't keep running things. I read all comments on forum and all very helpful. Thanks

I’m 17 days in and also so pleased I’ve had this surgery. I’ve had some low days and some painful days but generally so far so good. I wish you well in the forthcoming days xx

Hi its great to hear such positivity. Ive got my thr end of Dec. Good luck with your recovery 👍 hope all goes well.

Well done there - keep up the good work and go grab your pain free life back.

Hi Cindy I am 6 days post op and also came home yesterday smile You must have impressed them well coming home after only 2 days! Yes there is a lot of pain to be sure but it’s not the agonising never ending groin pain I had for a year. Can you walk far with your Zimmer? I’m trying to walk without limping but I still do a bit. Do you? Anyway we are home! smile

Hi Maddy, thanks for writing. Glad you're doing good. This is quite the ordeal. Yes I will have painful and low days too. One starting today. It's hard with my restrictions. Do you have them also? I'm so happy I found this forum. We'll hang in there together. I think this help my "Oh this is difficult days" Cyndy

Hi Cyndy, yes I’ve got all the usual restrictions. What I’m finding most difficult is to sleep more than a couple of hours at a time. Get so uncomfortable on my back! And not being able to bend/ reach to things is frustrating. And I’m a bit bored! However, so far I seem to be having an ok recovery and the pain I have now is minuscule compared to what went before. I need to remember that and stay grateful! Hope you’re getting through the day ok xx

Hi, thanks for writing. Happy you're over and out of it, well except, I guess, for the fulling getting back. Thanks for the well wishes. Not easy but things to get back like we all have or want to. This forum is great. Somehow makes me feel better mind wish. Good luck to you as well.  Cyndy

Hi, oh I'm finding sleeping on my back, or trying too, hard as well.I agree I don't think we'll get much sleep all until we can freely move. Between yesterday and today, my frustration level is off the wall. Picking things up is a killer now. I didn't think of that before being we just did it. P therapy coming to evaluate today.   Time on our hands is not the best sometimes. Cyndy

To me on my hands is Take care. Cyndy

Hi, thanks for writing. I agree yea we are home. I needed to get home to rest from being in hosp!! You know to our stuff, chairs, and bed. I agree painful but not like the pain prior. I'm not familiar with a Zimmer. Maybe I know it by a different name? I limp a little too.

Cyndy I came home yesterday with no bending restrictions and no sleeping on my side. The physios told me the bending and sleeping restructions have been lifted but it does depend on the surgeon himself. I guess every surgeon has his own post op rules but it’s what I was told in hospital so sleeping on my side now is heaven.

Ps made a mistake above - - i AM sleeping on my side

Hi, thanks for writing. Yea, that is the goal for all of us to get back to life. This is tough but not like before so I'm hopeful. Hope your doing good. We'll make it right? Cyndy

That's great. I can't wait to sleep on my side. Its going to be awhile yet, darn. Good for you.
