I am pleased to say that I had my follow up appointment 12months after my procedure. And yes my fibroids have shrunk by 50%. Originally they were huge so I am extremely happy with the result. The procedure was what expected and yes there was a lot of pain and discomfort but I pushed through. At home i had plenty of rest and relaxation and took the pain meds the hospital gave me
Ladies your body, location of fibroids is different so never compare yourself to another woman and how they reacted to the procedure.
You're absolutely right, our bodies and fibroids are different. I had my 1 year follow up as well. Before UFE my uterus was 17 cm. It's now 10 cm and my fibroids are still shrinking. My doctor said the ideal size is 6 cm but since I have given birth 8 cm would be a good size reduction.
That's good news. Yes they continue to shrink. More important going forward the entire situation from where my life when they started grow back (in 2000 I had a Mymectomy) and understanding the stress and a difficult times all leading to ending up having the embolisation. A year on I am in a different place. Fibroids are shrinking too. Knowing the trigger points and knowing myself better. I suffered with looking pregnant, the heavy long periods and all that goes with them for months before the embolisation. Now I am on the road to putting all that behind me and living a better life.
