Yeast infection or LS symptoms??

For the past two days I've had terrible burning near my urethra/ clitoral area. I did not have this before I started using clobatesol ( to this degree). How do I know if this is a yeast infection or if this is LS symptoms??? It is driving me absolute mad!! I used alor/ vitamin e / Vaseline in a daily basis. Should I take canteson to rule out a yeast infection??

Thanks,

Nicole

Hey Nicole!

I have just had such a similar problem as you. Things felt different down there and I went to the docs and turns out I had thrush and bacterial vaginosis too. The doc was telling me that it's so hard to know if you have thrush or bv with ls too because the symptoms are so similar but over time you will learn to differentiate between the two. For me, I had an inkling that it was thrush or bv because things felt different inside the vagina and everything seemed a bit more inflamed. The doc said this is because the pH of my vagina was different due to the thrush/bv. I think if you feel as though it feels strange / different to normal then get it checked out as you are probably right and our instincts for this condition are good. I would advise going to a sexual health clinic instead of the docs as they give you the results on the same day and treatment. Docs for me means waiting a week.

I would advise regular check ups too for thrush / bv. I heard that ls sufferers are more prone to them so might be worth it and then you will get used to the feeling of when you have thrush.

Anyway sorry for babbling and hope I helped a little!

Kasia

I stopped using aloe down there. I think it's too strong for me. Just a thought. Olive oil and coconut oil are gentle.

I concur that too much aloe might be counter-productive.

And also that LS and thrush go hand-in-hand in a vicious cycle. If I have the 'feeling' that Kasia  describes I just apply a dab of leftover Canesten cream – internally and externally – to nip the yeast in the bud. It may be too late, but worth a try if you haven't got cottage cheese discharge yet.
