started out as irritation. took diflucan. got worse. Dr said hsv but never swab tested.
he needs to swab test! go back and get swab or blood test. dr shouldnt say a diagnosis without testing. could be thrush and irritation / cracked skin from thrush. is there itching? pain? discharge?
i know, i was just in so much shock, i was not thinking clearly. after being home and researching all about hsv, i went back for a swab, but because he had me on meds, he said id need to come back after meds done for more bloodwork. makes me so upset, knowing i could have already had answers. not painful really, just dry and itchy, but lots if discharge- if that makes sense. acyclovir is not really helping much, its taken the redness away, which makes me think its not hsv. ive been using cortisone cream- because i have a rash on my backside also, and it seems to be getting better i just want blood results!
its weird he has diagnosed without tests! is it like bumps with sores i cant really tell? the linear cuts at the top look a lot more like dry skin rather than herpes but the individual more spaced out circular sores look more herpes style. the fact it isnt painful also indicates me more against herpes. he should have swabbed it when he saw it… i would try not to worry, it is is herpes it is not the end of the world but i understand it is a shock when first imagining it! you will be fine <3 how long have u had ur symptoms for now?
ive had symptoms for three weeks 800mg acyclovir isnt doing much anymore redness has gone down in front, but backside is awful. but the more i look at these spots, i wonder if it really is H.
you need to get more swabs really. herpes is typically painful. is discharge odourless? the fact medication isnt clearing is strange sign and theyve been around for 3 weeks… not sure. its hard to say! i would get blood work snd swabs done asap u need a proper diagnosis
so upset he didnt swab the first time around getting blood again in three weeks. possibly thinking about going to see a dermatologist, i dont trust this doctor at all!
