Just wanted to share my good news. I am 6 1/2 weeks post op and had my check up with my consultant tonight. He was so pleased with my recovery.
I can now drive again (I drove home from the hospital), I can sleep on which ever side I want if its not too uncomfortable. I can start to bend, kneel, etc., etc., etc.
Go back to see him again in 6 weeks time and to have an x-ray. He showed me the x-ray taken the day after the op and was all looking good.
He manipulated my leg and said I had good movement for 6 weeks.
My partner and myself are well pleased.
So to everyone struggling at the moment, there is light at the end of the tunnel and as we all heal differently and some take longer than others, you will get there in the end.
I know it will still take some time to get more movement back and for the slight swelling and pain to go altogether, but wow I am so so pleased
Oh wow that's great news!! Well done Nadine! I bet your well chuffed you can drive. I'm walking around the house with no sticks & no pain. Only pain I have is walking up & down the stairs, on my operated side, my knee is so painful to take my full weight so I think it may be a knee op next!! That's something to look forward to! Keep in touch & take good care.
Well done Nadine, So pleased for you. I have 4 weeks to wait for that news but have my appointment already pinned on the board. Keep up the good work slowly slowly.xx
Hi Nadine! Well done you! Just make sure you don't over do things!I am 12weeks on Monday! Still a little stiff but will keep up reflexology and swimming!regards Amanda
Good news Nadine! I can't wait to be back to normal but even at just over three weeks there has been a considerable improvement. Can't wait to get back to driving and taking the dogs for a walk! x
Got out of bed and was half way round the bedroom using hands to balance when I suddenly realised didn't have my stick - a step forward! Now I'm going to do the occasional few steps unaided.
Thank you gillcat, yes I will take it slowly, am going back to looking after my grandaughter in 3 weeks time, but only for a few hours the first week to see how it goes. She is 22 months and very active !!! lol x
