Young surgical menopause

I am 39 and only have one ovary. Prior to removing the left I was getting painful cysts monthly. Now it is starting on my right one again. I currently have 2 small cysts that are causing pain. Dr said we should take it out if it is affecting my quality of life so bad. I have a history of pulmanary embolism and have Factor V. Hrt is not an option for me. I’m terrified, all the research says it can cause bone loss, heart disease risk, and dementia risks. Anyone gone through this? How did you feel after? I don’t want to shorten my life

No experience in any of this. I'm 53 and in the throes of natural menopause which also have those risks except for dementia. Well anyway I agree it's very scary because I had good health before and now constantly experiencing periomenopausal symptoms.

hi, I've had both ovaries out but I'm 49. I know how painful the cysts are. Have you spoken to your Dr about your worries? Could you ask them what they are going to do about the bone loss etc? because you can't have hrt? Have you got a specialist in menopause you could be referred to? Asking the questions before you have your ovary out might help you decide or make sure you have plans in place might make you feel less anxious. hope all goes well for you🙂

I am going to see her before the surgery. I’m going to see my hemotologist about going on blood thinners again and then maybe I can have estrogen. I will ask for a specialist. I’m wondering if I should see a endeocronlogist and test all my hormones, if they are out of whack this could be causing the cyst. Thanks for your advice and reply
