I am really shocked at how many physical symptoms anxiety can cause!
was wondering what everyones symptoms of anxiety are.
might give people a bit of reassurance to see that what they are experiencing is completely normal.
crazy illness!
Yes, it is a crazy illness that can cause a slew of different aches and pains in different spots of your body, because your brain controls it all, and thats where the problem is, in your brain. Most anxiety is a chemical imbalance in the brain, mostly caused by Serotonin levels going haywire. Serotonin is made in the brainstem and intestines and affects the central nervous system in your brain. Now the symptoms can include chest pains, actually pains just about anywhere, headaches, dizziness, racing thoughts, abnormal thoughts, hazzy/foggy vision, confusion, tightening of the airway in your throat feeling as like you have something stuck there, racing heart, high blood pressure, acid reflux, diarrhea, gas, bloating, cramps, neck ache, increased sensitivity, emotional outbursts including crying for no reason, and the list goes on. So I hope this helps, and to be honest, I am not completely normal, I think of myself as special, kind of like having a 6th sense. We pick up on things most people do not, with our bodies, and our experiences can be used to help others, so try to be positive about your anxiety.
I have burning mouth syndrome ive been to numerous drs had tests and everything is clear. Only recently has it started to get better when i started taking antidepressants. Dr said it was due to stress and anxiety. and coincidently it started about a month after i had just come off an antidepressent biggest mistake i ever made.
I have been battling with health anxiety for about 5 months now. I’ve had major digestive issues(diarrhea, constipation, aches and pains in the abdomen, nausea, etc.) as well as the classic lump in the throat, shakes, generalized weakness, tingly numb limbs, headaches…all sorts of stuff. Furthermore I’ve had chest xrays, tons of blood work and about to have endoscope and colonoscopy just as a precaution to rule out any underlying health issues…so far so good on all the testing.
You sound like me 20 years ago. Been there done that. Its anxiety. Just go get medicated, get it over with, so you can get back to living again. Control the anxiety, all that other stuff falls in line. Take it from me, been doing this a long time.
I’ve had all the symptoms listed above and more! plus tests done to rule out sinister things including ecgs, chest xrays, ct scan on the lungs, multiple blood tests more than once.. every time everything is clear and normal. yet like many others I cant believe it’s all anxiety. my biggest annoyance at the moment is chest and back pain - alot of it muscle too from being to stressed and tense I suppose. and I keep getting a burning sensation which I assume is the muscle. then the odd shooting pains randomly when I’m feeling calm - it’s like my body is trying to say to me ermm why aren’t you stressed today! but day 3 of ignoring it and I’m doing okish.. I’m trying on my own but I do have sertraline as my medication to start when I’m ready!
