Hey yall. i was on Zoloft 25mg for three years then got a job and put my daughter in daycare for the first time. my anxiety sky rocketed and i thought my zoloft wasnt working without thinking about upping my dosage. i switched to lexapro 10mg for month and it didnt work out. My doctor put me back on zoloft 50mg and its been three weeks today. i still feel lightheaded off and on, no appetite and i wake up with burning chest and nervous stomach. sometimes im so nervous i puke. I know i have Anxiety but i also have health anxiety. Did the switching of medication make it to where zoloft is taking longer to help me? it saved my life pretty quickly when i first started but now i feel like ill never get better
hi there ,
there is a standard principle that the dr will use when switching meds . i dont know if this is the case for you . usually when i am switching my SSRI, they will lower the dosage of the pld one while adding the new meds in a lower dose then gradually you will be taken off the old SSRI (in your case is the zoloft) them be on lexapro. i am on lexapro 10 mg for about a year and a half and it helped me a lot on my depression and anxiety. All SSRI will take 4-6 weeks to feel its full effect . Hope this helps you .
