Zopiclone side effects and withdrawal? Help!

Good morning,

Really trying to get some help about zopiclone.
I started taking it about a month ago due to a period of insomnia.
The first two days they worked their magic, giving me some very nice 8h of restfull sleep.
The dose was 7.5 mg and the third night I decided to cut it in two: no sleep and the next day I was feeling awful: very very tired (more so than just after 1 sleepless night), intense diffuse muscle pain and heart racing like crazy.
I take it once again in the evening: get 1/2 h of sleep on that awfully fast heart then wake up and no sleep for the rest of the night: a couple of hours later the super fast heart rate slows back to normal.
Back on 1, sleep, no pill: panick attack and zero sleep.
Then I take them non stop for a week while reducing the dosage (rather quickly) and stop taking them completely, accompanied by one oxazepam. I get really bad food cravings.
I went from 7.5 mg to half in about 3 days then 3 days on half then cut it off completely. I was ok for two days and then rebound insomnia, my anxiety went through the roof again, very hypocondriac also for about 5 days. Now it is slowing back down again.

Is it possible to experience withdrawal with Zopiclone following this pattern? I am rather petite and never take any drugs, so they tend to have a strong effect on me on a general basis.

hi marie sounds like withdrawals, and if you read thru the forums unfortunately for some people you can still become dependant even if you take them for a short time. my advice to you is stay off these at all costs. because you werent on the long it should pass quickly x if you are able to get some cbti in ur area try that first before taking sleeping pills. x i hope ur sleep improves soon x

You have to try supplements also. Take your vitamins and say your prayers brother!
