I have CPTSD. I had no before trauma and felt that even in the womb I was being developed around fear. My mother had untreated schizophrenia and rejected me at birth and although I was with her for my first 3 formative years had no nurturing. She once dragged me for 6 miles when I was 3 without stopping. A vivid memory. I married a deeply scarred sexual abuse survivor for 22 years. I learned a lot, and suffered a lot. I then ran a charity for 6 years on completion of a sexual abuse course, helping people deal with the effects of abuse and also to help partners understand what was going on. Now in my 60’s I’m adding to my understanding of CPTSD and its effects. Kind support is so important. Compassion. I write, compose, perform and produce music which has been good therapy. Love Staffordshire bull terriers (Own one) and have a wonderful supportive wife.
