¡Hola! Primero quiero agradecer a cualquiera que pueda ayudarme de cualquier manera.
Me extrajeron las cuatro muelas del juicio el 24 de agosto de 2016. Originalmente no podía someterme a la cirugía hasta que la infección que me había llevado al dentista en primer lugar fuera eliminada. Mi dentista me recetó Penicilina para tomar durante 7 días y luego vine para la extracción el día 24. La cicatrización parecía estar bien, pero unos 4 días después de la cirugía tuve un dolor excruciante que no me dejaba dormir y me hacía llorar constantemente porque soy una cobarde de 22 años 
. En fin, fui al dentista y él puso Eugenol en el sitio de extracción inferior izquierdo, pero no dijo específicamente que tuviera alveolitis seca, aunque parecía serlo. También me dio una jeringa para usar para limpiar el sitio de restos de comida. El dolor solo está en el lado izquierdo inferior. Mis dos molares superiores y el molar inferior derecho no tienen dolor y puedo comer del lado derecho de la boca sin problemas. Solo es el lado izquierdo, donde estaba la infección. Han pasado 15 días y aún estoy tomando Tylenol Extra Fuerte 500 mL DIARIAMENTE, al menos 3 a la vez para el dolor. Mi lengua ya no está pastosa y amarilla como lo estaba días antes, sin embargo, el sitio de extracción en el lado izquierdo aún sabe horrible y hace que mi aliento huela mal. También duele como el infierno cuando me despierto, me acuesto por la noche. Tengo una cita el lunes, pero realmente empiezo a pensar que aún está infectado porque el sitio HUELE y quiero decir que HUELE a alcantarillado, incluso después de limpiarlo o cepillarme los dientes. ¡POR FAVOR AYÚDENME!!!
Sounds like infection. Plz see your dentist. Taking antibiotics with diflucan will stop the antibotics from causing a yeast infection oral thrush and save the good bacteria in the gut. Taking antibiotics alone will kill all bacteria leaving behind only yeast taking over the gut causing yeast infections and oral thrush.

Regardless gargle with salt water and use mouthwash that eliminates bacteria . The stitch does not desolve on it own?
¡Por eso estoy tan preocupada! Cuando me limpio la boca con la jeringa, también me enjuago con agua salada. Quiero decir que me enjuago al menos 3 veces al día, si tengo tiempo, más. Así que estoy preocupada de que sea una infección. Los puntos son absorbibles, pero hay uno dentro de mi encía que me molesta cuando trago alimentos o líquidos. Mi lengua también se roza mucho contra él, lo que también puede ser bastante doloroso....
Stick to straws. I had 2 pulled and pain meds helped a lot. Also I was on anti biotics two before and one after.
Call tomorrow and talk to the nurse express your concerns and set a appt may be the best way to get thru. I am concerned about the pain you describe it can be a infection as well as the other issues you have.
yikes I hate any one messin in my mouth but dentists need to keep us healthy. Sometimes I'd rather shovel out the barn.
I agree with everyone else here - it sounds like infection. Go back to your dentist again (or the ER if he won't see you) and in the meantime keep up the salt-water rinses.
The one thing in your post that concerns me the most is the amount of Tylenol you're taking (US generic name acetaminophen or APAP). This stuff isn't the nice, harmless OTC pain-killer it's promoted as. It's very easy to OD on it without meaning to and even the recommended dose can cause irreversible liver damage if taken for too long without a break. They've had a lot of unintentional deaths in the UK from people taking a very small overdose or combining it with something else (usually a cold cure) that contained the same active ingredient without realising it.
For European readers, the generic name over here is paracetamol - I realise generics are usually the same the world over, but this one's an exception. Trade names are Panadol in the UK and Dafalgan in continental Europe.
Wherever you are in the world, please treat this stuff with respect. It doesn't cause unconsciousness in overdose, but it irreversibly damages the liver, causing death in a couple of weeks unless a donor can be found.

Realmente no es el dolor del sitio de extracción, es esa sutura que no se ha disuelto. De hecho, ahora es bastante dura, así que... estoy preocupada. ¡Huele y siempre molesta a mi lengua! Y mis dientes que estaban al lado de los extraídos aún son MUY sensibles cuando se tocan entre sí (superior e inferior).
Glad to hear you're not overdoing it with the Tylenol! I still think you should see your dentist - or at least a doctor - about the smell and the pain in the socket, just in case it is an infection. It's really not a good idea to be walking around with an infection in your head.

Por si acaso se estaban preguntando, finalmente pude mirar mi boca allí atrás (bueno, mi novio lo hizo) y notó un hueso o un diente, en el lado de la encía donde se extrajo uno de mis muelas del juicio. Ojalá pudiera subir una foto. De todos modos, es MUY amarilla y no puedo cepillarla porque esa zona entera duele muchísimo. Tal vez eso es lo que huele??

Llevo dos semanas cepillándome suavemente y suelo tener un poco de sangre al terminar. Tengo una cita a las 11 hoy. ¡Espero no haber causado ningún daño! Todavía no sé qué es

Sounds like dry socket - i.e. failure of the socket to heal, exposing the bone, which has no inherent protection against infection, unlike superficial tissues. I'm afraid you shouldn't have been brushing it.
I realise this warning is a bit late for you but for anyone else reading this - never brush the area of the socket after an extraction, however gently. It needs to be left to heal naturally.
Your dentist will probably be able to fix the problem with antibiotics, though it might also be necessary to perform a curetage (scraping away) of the dead bone, which is probably what's causing the smell. After this it will heal normally.
Please ask your dentist exactly how to manage the area and follow his instructions carefully. You'll be fine then.

Thank you for posting the outcome, Krys. As I recall, we've had quite a few similar cases on this site, and I'm sure they'll profit from your experience.
And don't worry if the dentist does have to perform a curetage. I know it sounds a bit horrific but it's done under local and you don't feel a thing. I had to have it done myself 25 years ago - though under completely different circumstances - and everything healed up very quickly afterwards.
Bueno, fui al dentista hoy y le expliqué todo lo que expliqué aquí. Me dijo que el objeto afilado en mi boca era en realidad un hueso que estaba saliendo a la superficie, y como esa muela era la más difícil de extraer, esperaba que algo así sucediera. Limó el hueso para que ya no estuviera expuesto y para que mi encía pudiera sanar sobre él de manera normal. También me informó que el olor putrefacto podría significar que estaba infectado. Lo analizó y dijo que realmente no creía que estuviera infectado, pero me recetó un antibiótico suave por si acaso. También me escribió una receta para 15 percoset (spch) para tomar mientras la encía se cierra sobre el hueso. Me aconsejó que siga enjuagándome después de las comidas y que no me cepille la zona hasta que la encía se cierre. Por mi parte, después de que lo limó me sentí MUCHO mejor. ¡Podía comer, beber y tragar sin un dolor severo después de que bajó la hinchazón, lo que tomó aproximadamente una hora. No usó ningún anestésico y solo tomó unos 10 minutos!!! Estoy tan feliz de que mi boca finalmente esté sanando con normalidad!
