All- I posted a few weeks ago regarding the treatment of OLP using a CO2 laser. I had my first treatment last week and so far i cant tell if it helped. I did have the same sore on my tongue at the time of the treatment so for the past week I have been rinsing with a steroid which i believe healed the sore. the area pretty much looks the same now but i am going for a follow up tomorrow so my doctor may want to do a second laser treatment; I read it can take a few treatments to heal the tissue. Anyway, just wanted to update you guys on this. the treatment itself wasnt really painful just stung a bit when the laser was held in one area for too long. I will post again after the 2nd treatment. I do have faith in this technique so i am not giving up hope just yet

I had one cut out of my tongue that would not heal ,i had five stitches ,it was so painfull having needle in my tongue to numb it ,then ok for a couple of hours , when the numbness wore of I was in agony for a few days ,they never mentioned laser ,sure that would have been better

Jason, this sounds interesting, I hope it works for you. Can you explain what it is they exactly do? Are they trying to laser off the ulcer? or is to to get rid of the white plaques on the inside of your mouth.
Hey Gup - its to stimulate new cell growth. My doc lasered an old OLP scar from 5 years ago on the inside of my cheek and its now gone. The tongue looks pretty much the same but I havent developed any new sores since the treatment. but ive also been rinsing with the magic mouthwash every day so that may be allowing it to heal. Im going to get it checked out again on frday to see if a 2nd treatment is necessary - will keep you posted
That sounds promising Jason! keep us posted on how it all goes. I have started looking at "The Mona Lisa Touch" which is also laser treatment, but for Lichen Schlerosus, and its looking quite good, and so this is definitely something that I want to have done later on this year if I can get it done in the Country that I live in.
