The leader of the largest local church warned me not to participate in Yoga. I now regard him as an intrusive, arrogant and ignorant boy.
Further, there is a “counsellor” there, who advocates her faith, but has no counselling qualifications that I am aware of.
Another lay preacher took it upon himself to command me “take her back”. This referred to the painful breakup of me and my female partner for 22 years. An intrusive, arrogant and ignorant man, who does not really talk with me.
I have found late in life that the ?BPCAD Counsellors, with 6 years training, help me much more than nearly all the Christians I know in my home town.
I now regard the Bible as very out of date faction.
Faith is there to guide you through life, not help you when you feel alone or have a problem, this is the misundertanding most people meet with.
Hello, I am a Christian but not a qualified councillor, but if you would like someone who will listen to you and not talk only about religion, I would be very happy to lend an ear and be a friend if you are still in the same situation.
I have a lot of experience of anxiety and depression not only through my own but also through my sons and friends.
I just want you to know that if you do need someone who is happy to listen and maybe make some suggestions that might help, that I would be very pleased to hear from you.
I am a married disabled woman aged 69, and I am aware of how lonely times can be when you are struggling with things in your life, I have been there and felt very alone most of the time and I would have loved for someone just to be there for me. I came through it eventually and am still okay most of the time, I have the odd days here and there but nothing as awful as it once was. I have plenty of time on my hands and I want to be useful.
I do hope that things have improved for you now.
Best wishes Jackie T.
