I’ve had 6 gallbladder attacks in a 2 week span! My symptoms include: extreme abdominial pain right under breastbone center and to the right, pain radiates up right chest to right shoulder down right arm, back pain that mimics front pain in same areas, nausea, vomiting.
Attack Lengths:
1- 3 hours
2- 4 hours
3- 8 hours
4- 6 hours
5- 21 hours
6- 48 HOURS!!!
The 6th attack I finally let my husband take me to the ER and they did a CT scan with no contrast and all the dr told me was he saw some fluid on my abdomen and referred me to a gastrologist. I told him that i knew it was my gallbladder because I’ve had gallstones before. He just said to go to the specialist. They also have me IV morphine and it did very little for my pain. I never had issues with my gallbladder until after i had my gastric bypass surgery 10 years ago. I have a dr appt with the specialist in a week or so. Havent had anymore big attacks, a few smaller ones. I know i need to get my gallbladder removed and thats what i want. My question is what if since i havent had anymore larger attacks the dr says when he does his tests “oh well since your gallbladder doesnt look to inflammed” or whatever “theres no need to have it removed”? I know this will happen again and i feel like im a ticking time bomb and its giving me such anxiety to eat because im so afraid of having another big attack!
