1. In July I started to experience slight hemorrhoids. First time sufferer. Pain was manageable to begin with. Treated with ointments and supps.
2. Pain and other symptoms did not go away. Last month, pain increased after bowel movements. Went back to the hospital and got told it was a fissure. Referred to the colorectal dept. Given Venitol, magnesium, and paid meds. 4 week dose.
3. Back to the colorectal dept. Still not completely clear. Further 4 week continuation of same meds. Appointment scheduled two weeks from now.
4. Last week I noticed slight raised bumps on my penis. Went and had them checked a few days ago. Genital warts. HAving been to the same doctor over the past few months there was no indication that my arse problems were linked to this. Was given a 2 week prescription of Aldara, to be applied locally.
I'm just wondering if it's possible that all of this is connected? That perhaps HPV/warts are the cause of all my arse troubles?
It is hemorrhoids and not anal warts? (just a thought becase you say you have warts on your cock) In which case there might be a connexion. I wouldn't have thought so though. I have a small hemorrhoid which makes me sore from time to time but they are blood vessels and not the same as warts. I just know that piles can make your ass real sore and if you have multiples, bleeding ones, I understand they are nightmare. Are the piles bad? Have 'they' suggested surgery? When did the genital warts appear?. Where have you been putting your c....
One thing which will help with the haemorrhoids is keeping your anal region spotlessly clean. If possible wash the area after using the paper and/orn use moist wipes. It's a bit gross but using a moist wipe will show how much paper toilet tissue "leaves behind". You can get suppositories from the pharmacy without prescription but in my view you need to get one that actually has an active ingredient such as Hydrocortisone [very low dose] which will - if used regularly - shrink them somewhat. Anusol now does contain some [but check]. The doctor can prescribe some with a higher [= more effective] dose. Many of the others are basically a lubricant which helps when passing stools. Obviously perhaps it does help if you avoid constipation or hard stools like the plague!
I'm worried that initially the arse issue was hemorrhoids, and thus treated as such, but now HPV/warts have infected both the arse and the penis. And obviously, if this is the case I'm wondering if the doctor should be making the connection between the two and not treating them as separate issues. Arse pain comes and goes, really. Can just about cope with some Mypol and supps. Same partner for 7 years. She does have the HV virus though, and I know HPV in men can be dormant and never result in any symptoms or it can cause the problems that I am having.

Of course. I'm taking sitz baths two three times a day. After using a bidet. Very conscious about cleanliness. As mentioned I've been on a combination of supps and ointments, along with pain meds and magnesium oxide (for softening purposes) for a good few months now and things just do not seem to be clearing up. Which is what is leading me to think that it is either not hemorrhoids/a fissure anymore, or that it is a combination of hemorrhoids/a fissure and HPV symptoms.
Of course your are conscious about cleanliness - even when you don't have troubles! I realise that there ARE people who don't, but to suggest it in your case seems facile.
I just think that you might not be getting the best advice/treatment from your GP. They are often quite limited in their knowledge (you know the saying that 'we all know our bodies best' and, sometimes quite dismissive.
My own feeling 06128 is that you should visit your GP again and say that you want a referral to your UG clinic. He/She may prevaricate (it costs from their budget these days and they hate it) but don't be put off. Do seek help from a Specialist in the field - you can't go on living in such pain, discomfort and worry.
Hi, I have learned from personal experiece. Metamucil works excellent for ease of bowel movements a well as cleanliness. Better than a in depth explanation, try it for a couple weeks, you'll understand what I mean. You will actually see results in the 1st 2 days. I use it once per day around 2pm which is geat timing for the morning BM. Hope it helps.
