My husband has been diagnosed with minimal Chronic Pancreatitis 2 years ago, he does not drink alcohol we beleive it was caused by medication he has taken for years. He is now experencing severe lower abdominal pain (right above the groin) starting in the lower back region around his left side and into the lower abdomen does anyone else have these symptoms or could it be something else?
In January I was getting flank and loin pain it would even go down my leg, I also had blood in my urine so I had cystoscopy and ultrasound but nothing showed up I kept asking is it my pancreas I was actually told I was being silly. The symptoms went away then September I started having flank pain lower back pain now I have left shoulder pain and pain in between shoulders so I am still waiting for some kind of scan on the pancreas, I do have osteoarthritis but this pain is so different and I am taking tramadol it does take the pain away most of the time......
What was or is, his medication. The recent pain sounds like prostatitis, look up symptoms.
It could be pancreatitis bit sounds like he needs som e blood screens to check the levels. I have had pancreatitis for 12 years and I get a lot of bladder and kidney infections which has a lot do with the pancreas not working properly so your husband maybe getting infections in his bladder causing the groin pain. I hope that you get some answers soon.
Hi hope other investigation have taken place over the past two years. Looking at other folks symptoms it looks like pain is in different places on diferent people.I have not had official diagnosis of pancreatitis but have 3 benign tuors in pancreas and get lots pain central abdomen going into back and up my right side to gallbladder area ( gallbladder removed).but lots folk have left sided pain,I imagine as the pancreatic lyes behind the stomach and some 6 inches long pain can be across right,left and central!!! Hope husband's has prostate checked and bladder as well as bowel and colonoscopy and ? Endoscopy? Just thoughts.hope they help.
