Hi, I have been having intermittent upper abdominal pains for 5 weeks now and I still have no diagnosis. The pain is mainly on the left hand side behind the ribs and is sometimes felt in my side and back. Ocassionally I get pains on the right as well. These pains are intermittent and I have an overall uncomfortable feeling. Last week I was very unwell. I could't sleep and had dry mouth with furry tongue, headache and nausea. Luckily most of these have subsided but I still have a furry tongue and the abdominal pains. My appetite is all over the place. Some days I feel hungry and other days I don't. I have had an ultrasound which showed nothing due to bowel gas and have had 3 blood tests which were all fine. I had an MRI yesterday and am waiting for results. The doctors don't seem to have a clue what it is but I have wondered all along if it's an ulcer or gastritis. Do these symptoms correlate with anyone elses? I am desperate to find out what is going on! I am an 18 year old preparing for 1st year uni exams so it couldn't have come at a worser time.
Hi I've been suffering exactly the same.the pain is mainly upper left abdomen next to ribs sometimes goes lower down the left.and also sometimes on the right.i tested positive for hpylori 7 weeks ago n I'm still suffering my minds going crazy thinking I have cancer of some sort in the abdominal area it's making me go insane.im currently taking omeprazole
Hi Jason, at least you have some sort of diagnosis! My MRI was completely normal for my pancreas, gallbladder and bile duct. I am at a complete loss. The lightheadedness I am having is really impacting my concentration. I am having a blood test tomorrow for H Pylori and a number of other things that my doctor has thought of. I have also requested a blood test for coeliacs disease as it can cause a whole host of strange symptoms and it does run in my family. If you are feeling tired, get headaches and are loosing weight maybe you should get tested?
I had blood test last month everything normal.then i had more done last week for ceoliac, crp, lipase, full blood count and not heard anything.im just so scared it's something else.just got cancer in my mind
If you're that concerned ask for an MRI. MRI produces the best clarity out of all of the scans. I now know that I don't have a problem with my organs so it'll put you're mind at rest. I know exactly how you feel though.
Thing is I'm so scared in case they find something there my anxiety is sky high with this I can't imagine what I would be like waiting for results of a MRI.
It's horrible not knowing what it is and we just wanna feel normal again
I know it is. I'm loosing weight as well which I am very worried about. I had to wait nearly a week and I was desperate to find out. It is definitely worth having the scan though as it'll rule out your concerns.
